WWF Maple Leaf Wrestling 10/26/1985 Retro Results: Randy Savage, Terry Funk, The Killer Bees In Action

WWF Maple Leaf Wrestling TV show results from Brantford, Ontario, Canada at the Civic Centre airing in Canada on Saturday October 26, 1985:

Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse "The Body" Ventura are the broadcast team. Norman Kimber was the ring announcer.

The Killer Bees (Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell) defeated Frank Marconi and Barry O when Blair pinned Marconi after an elbow drop set up by Brunzell's dropkick in 3:52. On commentary, Monsoon talks about what a hit cartoon "Hulk Hogan's Rock N Wrestling" is. He asks The Body if he's seen any episodes of it yet. The Body tells him he's usually out on the town real late so he doesn't get up that early and he hasn't seen it.

The Update news segment is about Andre The Giant's feud with King Kong Bundy. That match will take place on Sunday, October 27, 1985 at Maple Leaf Gardens promoted by Jack Tunney.

Terry Funk (with Jimmy Hart) defeated Bob Marcus by referee stoppage with a sleeper hold 2:34. Funk used the branding iron to brand Marcus after the match.

There is an Event Center segment with Billy Red Lyons promoting the Maple Leaf Garden show the next night. The lineup is Cousin Junior vs. Iron Mike Sharpe, George Wells and S.D. Jones vs. The Hart Foundation, Dino Bravo vs. Moondog Spot, WWF Women's Champion Wendi Richter vs. The Spider Lady, Hillbilly Jim vs. Big John Studd, WWF Intercontinental Champion Tito Santana vs. Cowboy Bob Orton, Terry Funk vs. The Junkyard Dog, and Andre The Giant vs. King Kong Bundy.

Captain Lou Albano and Andre The Giant walk on camera for an interview with Lyons. Albano blames Bobby Heenan for having Bundy and Studd attacking Andre. He said Andre is now 100% healed. Andre said he isn't finished with Studd but he will make Bundy pay first.

Lyons quickly plugs another WWF event for Brantford on 11/4/85. He does a quick interview with Bundy but they only say he will be in action on the 11/4/85 show and don't mention his opponent.

King Tonga and Dino Bravo defeated Ted Grizzly and Steve Lombardi when Bravo pinned Grizzly after a backdrop suplex in 2:43. Tonga would eventually go on to have his name changed to Haku. Bravo was a babyface here with dark hair. On commentary, Monsoon plugs a Halloween themed edition of WWF Saturday Night's Main Event that would actually air the following week.

Another Event Center with Lyons. He interviews Hillbilly Jim who says he will slam Big John Studd.

Macho Man” Randy Savage (with Elizabeth) pinned Nelson Veilleux after two flying elbow drops in 2:37. On commentary, Monsoon plugs The Wrestling Album. Monsoon says Savage's elbow drop is probably the most devastating move in all of professional sports today.

Jesse "The Body" Ventura had an edition of The Body Shop with guests Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, King Kong Bundy, and Big John Studd. Heenan and Ventura say Lou Albano is a slob. They also agree that Bundy and Studd are bigger giants than Andre.

Pedro Morales pinned John K-9 after an over the knee backbreaker in 2:54. K-9 would later be called Johnny K-9 and even later Bruiser Bedlam. Monsoon said K-9 was a newcomer to the World Wrestling Federation.

Uncle Elmer and Cousin Junior defeated Mr X and Iron Mike Sharpe when Junior pinned Mr. X after a running seated senton in 3:56.

A final Event Center for the week with Lyons once again running down the card for the houseshow the following night. Bobby Heenan joins him for an interview. He warns Hillbilly Jim and Andre The Giant as Studd and Bundy walk in and join him for the interview. Studd says he can't be slammed or pinned. Bundy says Andre will be carried out of the ring and he will give him the Avalanche for a 5 count.

Lyons promotes yet another houseshow event for Oshawa on 11/5/85. Bundy joins him to promote that one too.

Monsoon and Venture recap the highlights of this week's show. Monsoon says next week in action is WWF Tag Team Champions Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake, JYD, The British Bulldogs, and Corporal Kirchner. Ventura says there's nothing but action in the World Wrestling Federation.
